Viento Blanco Wind Farm
Viento Blanco is a wind power plant located in Guatemala, which takes advantage of the renewable resource to convert it into energy. Viento Blanco consists in 7 state-of-the-art Vestas wind turbines model v112, with a power capacity of 3.3 MW each, for a total installed capacity of 23.1 MW. Viento Blancocan provide sufficient energy sustain approximately 130,000 households annually.
The project began its construction phase in January 2015 and entered into commercial operation in November 2015.It is the second wind farm successfully operating in Guatemala.

In addition, given the location of the project, the complicated access road and the large size of components, it was necessary to use the Blade Lifter equipment to carry the blades of the wind turbines. Viento Blanco ia the first project in the American continent to implement this solution and one of the few worldwide.
Viento Blanco, with the use of the Blade Lifter technology, reduced any incidence or adverse effects to the neighboring communities during the construction of the wind park.
